Day 3: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (42 km drive / 6 km trek)

Early in the morning at 5 AM, drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti and start the 6 km trek to Yamunotri. You can either walk, hire a horse, or use a Doli at your own cost. Upon arrival, take a bath in Jamunabai Kund’s Tapt Kund (hot water spring) and have the darshan of Yamunotri Ji. Afterward, trek back down to Jankichatti and drive to Barkot. Day 7: Sitapur – Kedarnath

Option 1:
Early morning after breakfast, drive to the helipad at Guptkashi, Phata, or Sersi based on the reporting time given by the helicopter company. Board the helicopter for Shri Kedarnath Ji. After a 15-minute flight, arrive at the Kedarnath helipad, perform Pooja and have darshan. You can stay overnight at Kedarnath Ji or return to Sitapur for the night.

Option 2:
Check out from the hotel at 3 AM and drive to Sonprayag. Take a government jeep to GauriKund (6 km, charges Rs. 10/-). From there, begin the 19 km (8 hours) trek to Shri Kedarnath Ji. Upon arrival, perform Pooja and have darshan. You can stay overnight at Kedarnath Ji or return to Sitapur.

Kedarnath:
The Kedarnath shrine is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds immense importance for Hindus. Kedar is another name for Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva’s blessings to atone for killing their cousins in the Mahabharata battle. Shiva, angry with the Pandavas, transformed into a bull, but Bhim recognized him. As Shiva attempted to disappear into the ground, Bhim tried to pull him out, leaving the hump above ground. The Shivalinga at Kedarnath is believed to be that hump.

Kedarnath Weather:

Day 8: Kedarnath – Sitapur / Govindghat

Option 1:
Early morning, reach the helipad and catch the helicopter. Fly back to Sitapur and proceed to Govindghat (170 kms / 7 hrs). En route, visit Ukhimath (the kmwinter abode of Kedarnath Ji). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel for an overnight stay at Govindghat.

Option 2:
If you return from Kedarnath on the same day and stay at Sitapur, have breakfast, check out from the hotel, and proceed to Govindghat (170 km / 7 hrs). En route, visit Ukhimath (the winter abode of Kedarnath Ji). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel for an overnight stay at Govindghat.

Option 3:
By Trek: Early morning, start the trek again and reach Gaurikund. Then, drive to Sitapur for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Govindghat – Badrinath

After breakfast, check out from the hotel for Badrinath Darshan (30 km / 2-3 hrs). Pilgrims can bathe in the Tapt Kund and have darshan of Badrivishal, with Aarti in the evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus).
